Hi, I just signed up for My Fitness Pal last week. I haven't really used it until today. I live in Tennessee. I've struggled with weight since I got out of high school (15 years ago) and was not thin while I was in high school. I had a baby in June. I was obese before I got pregnant. I've lost what I gained with her, but I need to be healthier and in better shape because when she starts toddling, I'm going to need to keep up. Anyway, hello everybody. I hope this works for me. I've tried everything there is. I'm hoping my baby will give the motivation I need to set a good example for her.

Welcome to MFP and congrats on the baby, we are a great community to help one another lose some weight and have a better outlook on life. There are some great people in here and some stories of inspiration you won't hardly believe. Feel free to add me as a friend. I'll be around for a very long time as I still have a long way to go in my journey.0

MFP has really worked for me. I joined August 1 and have lost 10 pounds, five to go. I haven't had the struggle you've had, but I have tried to lose this 10 pounds a number of times over the past ten years and either failed or gained it back. I feel like I have really relearned here on MFP how and what to eat, and I have found it really set up to encourage activity. I'm not hungry on what they give me for calories. Let it become a lifestyle for you, a daily accomplishment to be active and healthy. Add me if you think it would help you. I'm here every day and would love to encourage you and see your progress.:flowerforyou:0

Thanks for all the support already! I guess I should mention that I'm trying to lose over 100 lbs. My start weight right now is 280. I was a little over 330 when I had my baby. That just seemed to come off. I think it was a lot of fluid retention. My goal is 145, so that's a grand total of 135 lbs to lose. I know it takes a while, but I need to do it and I am going to. Thanks again for the support. It's nice to know other people trying to be healthy too.0

I just signed up for My Fitness Pal today after spending some time reading the forums as a visitor. I’m currently on a fluctuating weight scale. I manage to have the dedication and perseverance to eat healthy and exercise for several weeks or months – losing a good amount of weight – and then out of nowhere fall off the band wagon and gain it all back again. It’s a vicious cycle, one I’d like to break for good. Any pointers or words of advice – either for weight lose or for getting the most out of this site?!0
