Cheat days?...not so much

So a couple of months ago I had a good friend of mine, who is very supportive of my lifestyle change, ask me if I had any cheat days in my routine. He only asked because he had heard people talk about taking a day off from their diets and such. I just simply told him no, and if I did, it would probably only be three days out the year I would do so...Christmas, Thanksgiving, and my birthday.
Personally I don't need a cheat day, if I want to overeat or have some candy I will. My wife has been amazed at my ability to bypass donuts, or brownies, or cookies which are my top three favorite desserts. I find myself not wanting to waste my calories on them anymore.
As far as the three days a year thing, with the holiday seasons knocking on the door, I actually thought about it this morning. I had thought about just letting loose and pigging out those days but honestly, I don't think my love for food and overeating are quite as strong as they once were. It's truly an amazing feeling, to know that I can have whatever I want and as much as I want but I just choose not to anymore! I'm not limited by some "diet!"

I have been eating my new diet as a part of an active lifestyle for 12 weeks now. If it is part of a lifestyle change and not a special, temporary diet, then "cheat days" make no sense. I make room for a treat on most days, usually a dessert after dinner. I am working toward a sustainable lifestyle.
As far as the holidays, I will eat the same things, just less of them. Also, if I make a bunch of treats for Christmas like I normally do, then I will give away most of it.0 -

I usually cheat on Saturdays or Sundays, one or thee other, but I don't completely over due it, I try to eat about 1200 calories a day, so sometimes I will eat about 2000-3000 calories on my cheat days
but that has kind of slowed the speed at which I'm losing weight so I'm feeling like i should just eat healthy every day now
I lose 2 lbs a week but when I cheat I only lose about 1-1.5 lbs a week if Im lucky, sometimes I stay the same, I have a really slow metabolism =/0
