HRM Recommendations?

I am looking to upgrade my current HRM. The one I have now requires that I manually check my HR durring the workout. That is not easy to do (push and hold a button until it beeps) while I'm trying to do my cardio workout. Does anyone have a good, relatively inexpensive HRM that will automatically check your HR through your workout? Please be specific about name and model. Thanks so much!

I have a Polar FT7, which was not cheap -- $90ish, my workplace fitness reimbursement covered it! But I think Polar is a great brand and they have cheaper models. I actually chose Polar based on finding old threads on here -- if you do a quick search for "hrm" I bet you could find other recommendations.0

Polar FT4, FT7, FT40, FT70.
Motorola MotoActv
Those are all really good HRMs that I have tried and used. I currently use the FT40 which I love.0 -
If you have a smartphone, & use it as an mp3 player during your workouts, you may want to consider a Zephyr HxM, or other Bluetooth HRM, I'm happy with mine.0

I have the Polar FT4 and love it. Here is a link to get it for $61.88.
