Running vs Jillian Michaels Body Revolution

I bought some new clothes yesterday and although I had been pleased that I'd lost 7 lbs recently- looking at an all round image of myself in the changing room mirror was quite depressing.
I have started Body Revolution and am doing C25k.
Although BR is giving me toned arms and legs, what I really want is to remove the fat particularly around the front and back of my torso. I know I can't spot reduce but would I be better stopping BR for a while and just running to burn the fat off. Also, does running tone those areas too.

Running tones the core and is cardio but I'm pretty big on weights and cardio for a full well rounded routine0
