First Timer Here from Texas

Hello to everyone. This is my first time here and I am so hoping that this will help change my life. Mt wife and I have decided that we are slowly killing ourselves and that it is time to make a change. I weighed in at 350 lbs this morning. I am 6'1" tall and realized that if I ever grew into my weight I would be about 10' tall. My cardiologist has warned me and I am currently on several pills a day for thngs like High Blood Pressure, Water Retention, STress etc... This has been hard because we are the Owners of a High End Cake Shop specializing in Wedding and Custom Grooms cakes...so now you see the problem. BUT WE ARE WORKING ON try to get back our health and get back into shape. Wish us luck.

    Hi Dan!

You've made a great step getting involved in MFP. The people on here can be really wonderful and supportive. It must be very had to resist the temptation at your bakery. I'm sure that you and and your wife can do this. I know everyone says this but the key really is to take it one meal, one snack, one temptation at a time. I had a trainer one time that always used to say that you are making choices that will either help you to be fit or fat. He'd always ask us which are we going to choose? Anytime I'd want a snack I'd find myself saying "I choose fit". I gotta be honest - sometimes I told my self "I choose fat" and have whatever I was craving. :-)

Good luck on your journey. Add me as a friend if you'd like

Hi, Dan! *waves from Houston* Welcome! I don't think I can say anything better than the poster before me. One day, one meal, one snack at a time!

    Hey Dan!

WELCOME!!!!! There are a lot of great people here. We all have the same thing in common, we NEED to lose weight. There are some really motivating people, who will pick you up when you're down, or help you through not giving in to cravings. This is a process. You have to remember it didn't develop over night and it certainly won't come off overnight, but if you chip away a little at a time, they will add upto chunks. I'd be happy to have you as a friend! I wish you all the luck and most of all success in the world!
