I think it matters what the person says, and how sincere they are when they say it ...

Depends. If my male boss compliments me versus some hot guy at the gym, my feelings could vary quite a bit.

with the pic on her ticker, she could have said the government is responsible with money and I'd still agree with her...

Personally I find the opposite to be true... I'm a lot more free with my compliments with other women than I am with compliments to men because I don't think it is going to be taken the wrong way.

    Oh shucks.
  • I don't think it truly matters. I have been paid compliments by both men and women throughout my life and I find that the ones that really matter the most are the ones I "believe" because of my actions. If someone says "hey you're looking great, have you lost a few pounds?" and I have, then I feel great but if I haven't then I presume they are just making small talk or have a bad memory. If I have accomplished something and others notice, I don't care if they are male or female, I appreciate that they noticed.

I think it has more to do with tone and the context in which the compliment is given than the gender of the person giving it..

I'm kinda the same way, I like when my girls compliment me. Some times when guys compliment me, I shake it off within 20 minutes.
It depends on the guy, and what he says. It also depends on the girl, and what she says. And how sincere she is...
    examples

My bestfriend aisa: "Your butt looks great in those jeans"
Me: Oh my god, really? Thanks *stares at butt all day*
Some guy Ive been crushing on: You look really pretty today.
    Me: Oh tehehe Thanks :blushing:
    Female Teacher: Your really pretty!
    Me: Thank you!
    Male teacher: Your really pretty!
    Me: Oh, thanks... (Creeeeepy...)
Stranger on the streets: I love your dimples
    Me: THANKS!

It can go on and on... Ya know.
  • I don't know? Perhaps?
