HELP

Hi MFP
I went from zero exercise and an unhealthy diet to working out 4-5 days a week on a 1200 calories diet for about a month now. I do in fact eat back all my calories. I’ve been doing circuit training (30DS) and 30 minutes cardio on the treadmill. I’m 5’2 and 150 lbs. Any advice to why I haven’t lost any weight? I’m feeling very discouraged right now.

  • If you're eating back all your calories then there is no calorie deficit. does 30DS have weight lifting? could be muscle gain if theres a change in the mirror weight loss shouldn't be a problem.

This is incorrect. Netting 1200 gives the OP a deficit, that's how MFP works.

There isn't much weight lifting, very light if any. I can see very little changes on my body.

You need to change up your workout. Your body is now used to your workout schedule, and it doesn't have to work as hard to burn fat/calories. You should amp up your exercise, and change up your exercise routine about every 3-4 workouts. 30 Day Shred also builds muscle, so your zero weight loss could be a result to muscle gain/tone. Are you also taking your measurements? If not, you should-- The scale is only half of it!

Good luck, and keep it up! :)

I would try to change things up a little with your workouts. Also with food. Your body is probably freaking out cause you went from nothing to working out and eating better. Don't give up. Everyones body is different so it may take you a bit longer to see results.
Example: my sis and I started working out and changed our eating habits at about the same time. I saw results with in 2 weeks it took her 6 weeks to see any results.
Just keep pushing through. Also some weights are good. Muscle burns fat!

Where are you getting the burbn rate on your workouts?

This site gives nuch more (about 1/3) morec alories burnt than my HRM tell me - if you eat back ALL your claories you will be eating too much.

Aim for eating back 20-30% only.

I looked up online for the calories burned for each workout on the 30DS, and I use my calorie counter on my treadmill.
  • Keep going!! Sometimes the scale works in mysterious ways and you might see a sudden drop out of nowhere. To be on the safe side, are you drinking enough water? It plays a giannnnnt factor
