Snack before AM workout?

I work out first thing in the morning - at 5:30 - after only drinking about half a bottle of water. I make breakfast afterward, usually a protein shake or shredded wheat and a fried egg. Should I eat a small snack before my AM workout? If I do, how long should I wait after I eat to begin my work out? I do my workouts so early because, like most moms, my mornings are pretty hectic.

    If this is working for you and you don't feel weak, there is no need for one imo.

    I usually have a banana on the way out of the door.
    Don't think it's crucial, just don't like to work out on a completely empty stomach.
