ALL day strength training (long rests between sets)

Is it ok to workout all day long but spread everything out over the course of an entire day? For instance, do 1 setup of pullups to failure, rest for a half hour (at work), come back do another set to failure, etc -- until you do your entire workout? So basically I'm following a normal program -- I'm just wanting to spread everything out. Thoughts? Here's my current daily schedule:

I have access to a gym 24/7 so it would work great for me to do this. Instead of smoke breaks during work -- I'd take workout breaks! :D

    Is it OK? Yes.
    Are there problems? No.
Long rests between sets are optimal for building strength, but not necessarily muscle mass. If you can do multiple sets over the same break of the same exercise, that's more conducive to increasing muscle mass.

well that depends on what your wanting to get out of the workouts...if its just to stay away from a smoke break and burn a lil bit of calories all day, thats great. but if you want to gain strength, build endurance etc. Not so much. To improve conditioning you must provide a reason for your body to change...hence the term progressive overload. Doing a set and then waiting a half hour is like trying to expect a drop of water to grow a sequoia tree. Like I said, to create a change in the body it has to have a reason- to gain strength do you think waiting a half hour between sets, thereby allowing your body to completely recover from your workout set, is gonna really put enough pressure on your body to get stronger??? More than likely, not. If you have trouble getting in a full workout in just train one body part a day...that will get you in and out of the gym in less than 30 minutes and you get a very intense workout. I use this as my workout : Mon-shoulders, abs, calves, Tues: Arms, abs calves, Wed- Legs, Thurs-chest, abs and calves and Friday- Back, abs and calves....not one of my workouts goes over 30-35 minutes and on shoulder day, im in and out in 12-15 minutes. Get in, kill it, get out! Just a thought. Hope it works out for ya.

    definitely depends on your goals.

most people train all at once because it's the optimal way to get it done. most lifts require you loading them...meaning you would need a warmup before doing your working sets. so you would waste a ton of time warming up and cooling down if you went about it in the way you're asking.

When I was in the Navy I was on a ship and didn't have much to do when we went out to sea so I worked out like that to pass the time away. It can be done but the gains came slower.
