Overeducated Foodie Types Want to Befriend Me?

Hey all,

I am graduate student with an obnoxious obsession with grammar, punctuation, and whole foods that taste good. I have some friends on here who are great, but I would love some peers, too.

I am looking to lose weight, but more than anything, I want to be healthy long-term. I refuse to deprive myself of real food, nutrients, and taste in exchange for low-cal processed foods--e.g. Lean Cuisine, all kinds of shakes, yogurt laced with splenda, coffee creamer, diet soda. I know I won't continue to eat like that forever because of my snobby eating habits (I grew up in an Italian family and lived in Italy--I love good food), and, honestly, with all the crazy diet talk going on these forums, I am becoming more and more convinced that eating healthfully is better for you than losing weight with crazy processed nonsense. I would like friends who like Farmers' Markets, who aren't vegetarian but don't scoff at foods like tofu, and who like cooking healthy, good tasting meals.

So, if you find yourself in a similar position as me, please befriend me!
