Shoulder popping

When I am working out I am hearing a noise coming from my right shoulder. It sounds like a popping noise of some kind. It doesn't hurt at all but its just noticeable when I lift my arms straight to the sky above my shoulders and when I bring them down back to my body. I'm not too concerned with it because I can somewhat recall from my past having this same issue with my shoulder, so it may have been something that I have had for a long time.
Any suggestions? Has anyone out there had this before?

It could be the rotator cuff if you are doing repetitive heavy lifting over head, but you said you didn't have pain...so it may just be the joints creaking. To be on the safe side, next time you're at your doctor - mention it and see what he thinks.0
