I know I can go without chocolate but when I crave it boy do I crave it. Nothing I have found helps, Ive tried hot chocolate( the 40 cal ones) fruit, going for a walk etc.

Anyone else like this? How have you overcome it?
I really want to shift the weight and keep it off this time but know if i keep eating chocolate its not going to happen. I cant just eat like half the bag, I have to eat the whole bag, then feel sick, then feel guilty. Any suggestions?

If you can't portion control then the only thing you can do is stop buying it. I don't crave chocolate very much but I broke a large candy bar into 100 calorie portions. Occasionally when I want chocolate, I'll have the small bag for 100 calories. But chocolate isn't a trigger food for me.

What never gets past the door in my house are potatoes. I am not low carb and could totally eat a small potato but I can't eat it without lots of butter and without wanting more and more and MORE. That's just not something I can control. So I just don't buy them. If they aren't in the house, I can't eat them.

Good luck with your chocolate cravings!
  • I've found that Hershey's kisses are good for chocolate cravings. A serving size is NINE kisses, which in my mind, seems like a lot more than, say, one candy bar. So if I decide I'm eating chocolate, I log the calories first, divvy out my 9 kisses, and put the bag away. When I'm done, I'm done. The calories are already logged, the limit already reached. It works for me.
