Ate lunch, still hungry. drank water, still hungry. Ate ...

I ate lunch, and I was still hungry. Maybe Sushi while starving wasn't the best choice but it looked so good! So I drank my water and was still hungry. So I came home, opened a can of green beans, ate them all, and I'm still hungry. now what?!

What do you eat when you are still hungry but you really don't want to consume a ton of calories? I think I'm going to make myself a veggie stir fry. And drink more water!

    flavored sparkling water

    Or - if I am really hungry I will just eat me next meal early.

    Eat some protein? Egg whites or a packet of tuna aren't too high in calories.

    ^^Don't do any of that if you're actually hungry. Eat something substantial but not junk. There should be zero guilt about eating if your body is telling you it needs fuel. :drinker:

    Maybe you need some protein?

    Protein shake/bar
    greek yogurt
    almonds
    grill up a chicken breast
    veggie burger without bun

    I do have days when I'm hungry no matter what though. I usually just eat (healthily) til I'm not hungry anymore and go over the cals for a day and get back on track the next day.

    Careful!!! My body will say it still needs food after consuming an entire pizza!! I'm having to learn to listen more carefully.

    But, for me coffe or diet soda helps. Also popcorn is very filling for a relatively small amount of calories.

    A cup of coffee with a little bit of half and half and cinnamon sprinkled on top usually curbs my hunger for some reason.

    I try to go for a walk, or try to find something else to distract me for a bit. Then sometimes the urge to eat goes away.

    If I'm hungry, veggies or fruit just won't help - I need real food, especially something with protein in it. Looks like you've had a lot of carbs so far today. I'm not saying that's bad, just saying that for me a day like that means I'm just going to be super hungry because carbs seem to just burn through me with no real value. In fact, that's why I recently decided to swith from protein bars (that tend to have a lot of carbs because they're also toted as "nutrition" or "energy" bars) to protein powder that's very low in carbs. I want the protein to help with my lean body mass and hunger but when it's mixed with too many carbs it just doesn't seem to help.

    When I'm hungry but don't really think I should be hungry I try rice cakes...sounds like you've had enough water :). If I think I really should be hungry then I eat more...

    I'll have a coffee with trim milk or a protien drink. One thing I have learned is that a good portion of protein with every meal does help a lot.

    Although my plan is sushi for lunch today so I might be taking my own advice later...

    It depends on if your body needs the calories or not (did you do strength training lately? maybe you need a bit more protein). Otherwise lots of veggies will fill you up for little calories. Sometimes I have days like that, but usually it's after I've done a lot of strength training and my body wants more protein!
  • WARM water. Does the trick for me everytime. It makes you feel full quicker.

    Get some protein!! Sushi and the rice messes me up carb wise-I have turkey pepperoni and colby cheddar cheese sticks at work for the afternoon hunger attacks.
  • I have a really bad habit of chewing ice so when ever i'm hungry i chew on ice. It beats eating something you'll regret and you're getting your daily intake of water at the same time

    Is there something wrong with just being hungry? If I know I have had enough to eat and I am still hungry, then I am still hungry. I usually forget about it once I get busy doing something.

    a veggies stir fry sounds like an excellent choice. Just don't use too much oil.
