started last April. Lost 40 pounds by August. Have put 29 of it back on. 9 during the holidays alone. Anyone have a realistic goal for my April one year check in? I'm starting my daily log ins again.

1 lb a week! That is the healthiest way to do it!

I'm not sure how much you're wanting to lose per week, maybe it's set too high. I started out wanting to lose 2 pounds per week but that was unrealistic. I fix food for my husband and myself (he's not watching his wasteline) so I can only restrict so much. I moved it to one pound per week and that was doable. IT's a lot slower but it's working.

I was like you, I put on 5 pounds a year for the first 15 years I was married. I said...enough! Joined MFP and never looked back. Stick with MFP and you will lose the weight.

Agreed! Just stick with it. My journey has not always been pretty but the basics are the key and MFP is totally it!! Excercise and then eat your excercise calories. Bottom line...it works. I think saying 3-4# per month works. The one thing I caution you is to think that the weight loss will be smooth and steady. For some this is how it works but for others they might start out losing but then their body shifts and they need to modify and adjust. Sometimes kicking up the excercise and sometime just plain eating more calories (scary but it works).

Read Banks (SHBoss)...ask him he can really help you.

It is soooooo hard to work at losing those pounds you have already lost!! But you CAN and WILL do it! You are braver and stronger than those pounds! Best of luck!!
