EXERCISE AND HAIR

Okay, so I work out every day, and want advice from other people who do this too! How do you care for your hair? Washing it every day is damaging it, but I can't not wash after a workout! HELP! :)

I shampoo and condition every other day, and use just conditioner on the days I don't shampoo.

I had very long hair all my life but when I started this and started working out I cut it really really short. I actually love it. Easy to keep clean =))
  • Dry Shampoo! It's a must!

I recently cut mine off toa bob because of this issue...I can't shampoo it every day or it gets brittle. I am rinsing it and conditioning daily but only shampooing every other day now. I also am chilling on having as many highlights put in it.

I wash my hair about twice a week (it's about tailbone length). Between times, I rinse well and condition. Most of the time, that's good enough.

I'll wash around my scalp or the edge of my hair if I don't sweat too bad. My hair is long and washing it every day is a huge drag. I'll tie it up high when I run to keep the majority of it away from my sweaty self then I'll wash around my face and neck. I'll wash my entire head every other day.
  • Buy a dry shampoo. I use one from tresemme and it leaves my hair smelling good and fresh.

I have really fine hair so I have to wash mine everyday or else it looks like I haven't washed it for a week!

I think short hair is the go! Mine is below shoulders but was longer - I'm finding since I've started working out more & after having kids - constantly having my hair up is causing it to break & I have BAD fly aways - it's depressing

This is what I do, too. It seems to work pretty well.
  • look for sulphate free shampoos or even use baby shampoo its much gentler on the hair and make sure you have a really really good conditioner :)

I'm a huge fan of Wen Hair Care. It's a cleansing conditioner that I use every other shampoo.

i dont know but dont buy "not your mothers neat freak" brand of dry shampoo..I bought it to try and it leaves this horrible residue in my hair making it feel stiff like...looks good and clean but feels yuck. maybe they all do that, I've only tried this one and not my thing. Ima try the rinse and condition next myself.

My hair is really fine and I cannot wash it everyday because my scalp starts to hurt. I also exercise everyday and I still only wash it every 1.5/2 days. What I do after I work out is I take my ponytail off and I brush out my hair.

i'm sure i have a different hair type and texture and needs than the OP but I wash with a light conditioner with no silicones and that leaves no residue 3-4 times a week. once a week i use a non sulfate moisturizing shampoo made with honey and a thicker conditioner also with no cones.

my hair isnt long at the moment but it's on the non-porous side and is very thick so it can take hours to dry.
