Surgery and weight loss

This may be of interest to some. I just returned home from an emergency appendectomy with some complications. Spent 4.5 days in the hospital eating hardly anything and being on IV the whole time. I thought, "Hey this should give me quite a spurt downwards to my goal.." alas, I only lost 1.2 lbs since my last weigh in. The doctor explained.. You have been on a saline drip, during the whole time, and you are bloated and inflamed from the surgery. (My stomach had expanded three notches on my belt. Can hardly button up my normal pants.)

And so I guess it will take a few days for the saline to flush out and the bloat to disappear. and my exercise routine is on hold for a few weeks. Doctor says, no hard workout for awhile. Gentle walks.. and yes, I am home feeling much better, and well on the road to recovery.

So that was my weekend. How was yours? ;)

I'm glad you're doing better. After I had my daughter by emergency c-section, I was like great I'm going to lose at least 10lbs, HA I was so bloated from the IV. My feet wouldn't fit in my shoes, I had to wear slippers home.

The fitness club allowed me to take up to two months absence without paying my monthly fee while I regain energy. Sweet.
