....to rent a Camaro for the weekend (assuming you don't already have one).

Backstory....tomorrow is our 10th wedding anniversary and next weekend we're going away to celebrate (read: NO KIDS). I thought as an anniversary present to my hubby, I'd rent a nice fun car for us to tool around in while we're gone (read: Car with no car seats). I found a Camaro (which is what I wanted) but it's a bit more than I had anticipated. Just wondering if it's worth it....

That sounds cool however, I think most of the rental fleet is the RS (V6) one which is a let down.
    Maybe a convertible instead?
I am sure that the Chrysler 200 convertible is affordable?

You're probably looking at around $160 a day...last minute rental. There are some really cool exotic car rental places in large metro areas....you could really make his day...but you'd be looking at around $200-250 a day on lower spectrum.

If it's a 1967 convertible then go for it!

Put as nicely as possible. I wouldn't even pay a penny.

    SV....this was $180 a day. Total of about $221 for the weekend. It's a new model....not classic.

ABSOLUTELY worth it. He will love it. Pay whatever. I usually will purchase the option of "they choose" your car or selecting a midsize car. I have rented really cool cars like this. Then just ask them what is available.

I vote go for it, but then I happen to love the way the new Camaros look and sound.
  • I'd pay a dollar.
