10-for10 Challenge!!!!

Alrighty, there is a magazine style TV show that runs in Canada, and they are having a challenge that they are calling 10-for10. Google it! It is being run by a trainer named Stephanie Joanne.

It starts today… October 3rd. But let's face it, this thing could happen during any 10 week span. The idea is that for 10 weeks straight you do 3, 30 minute workouts a week. They have a dvd that you can get off their website, though, I'm not sure I'll be getting the DVD, however it might help you in YOUR progression, so you should consider it. It comes with a chart, so you can track your results.

So, for me the above is great, but the even greater part? Stephanie's approach:

- THIS IS NOT ABOUT PHYSICAL RESULTS!!!
- this is about increasing STRENGTH and increasing ENDURANCE
- The physical results will fall into place once you increase your strength and increase your endurance.

- In your first fitness test, you are doing 3 sets of sit-ups, push-ups, full body squats, and planks for 30 seconds each set (I may throw burpies into the mix, because they are the most amazing thing ever invented!).
- Count how many of each exercise you do per set. If you like, you can do this test once a week to keep track, or do a final fit test at the end. By the end of the 10 weeks, you want to increase how many you did in the beginning by any number you choose (but let's be realistic about it).
- So for instance, I just did full body squats and was able to do 19 of them in 30 seconds for my first set, and this number will decrease once I get to my second and 3rd set, because I have the endurance of an elderly woman. I want to increase my numbers by week 10 to 40 full body squats in my first 30 second set, and so forth…
- Your end results will show how much more strength you have, and if you are able increase your final 30 second set it will show how much more endurance you have.

I feel like many of us fall behind in our weight loss and fitness goals because of mental blocks. "I don't look how I want or expected" "The weight isn't coming off on the scale" "My muscle tone isn't great" "I still can't fit into size 2 pants". I love Stephanie's approach. It really clicked with me when I watched her on TV this morning. It isn't about the blocks I mentioned above. It isn't about how you look, it's about what you can do.

ANYWHO! A friend of mine is actually IN this challenge… she is one of the 6 participants actually working with Stephanie, and hopefully will be on TV. Her name is TENLEIGH, and she is here on MFP, under that user name. She is a busy gal, and doesn't log in every day, but I feel like she will be AMAZING motivation! I think if you are interested in this challenge with me, you should FR her. She may not be on here every day, but she can give us updates on how she is doing along the way, working with the actual trainer who is running the program.

Who's with me?
