Running with tummy ache???

I will usually run with a cold, bad allergies, headaches, etc. What I don't think will be very fun is running with a tummy ache. I just signed up for my first 10K and want to train today but I can't even imagine running with this tummy ache I've had all day. Does anyone run no matter what? Did it make it worse or better? Suggestions???

Tummy ache like you are getting sick with a stomach bug? I'd skip it. You need to rest up and conserve your fluids.

Tummy ache like "I ate too much and I feel ick now" I'd do it and just ease into it.

I ran with a tummy ache yesterday evening I hated every second it sucked but I finished (with slower times than normal by almost 45 seconds per mile) but ifinished and I'm glad I did

Definitely tummy ache, bug type. I thought eating lunch would make it better. Not the case. So, skip the run then....

Depending on the severity I'd probably skip running today and run tomorrow (assuming you're feeling better). Running can take a minor digestive tract issue and turn it into an incredibly embarrassing one.....

Really need more info to make that call...It could make you better or worse depending on what's causing it. I've run with a tummy ache before from something I ate and ended up puking. Good thing I was outside instead of on treadmill at the gym.

Depends on the type of tummy ache and whether it's outdoor vs. the treadmill. I'm more likely to run as planned if I'm on the treadmill at home because if I start to feel sick, I can just stop and run to the bathroom.
  • if it is the "something is going to shoot out of the north or the south" then yeah SKIP THE RUN!!! lol feel better

Yep, I mean UG that is not something you want to have happen either at the gym or on the road.
You will also probably bounce back faster if you rest while you're sick.

I wouldn't. I forced myself to go to a dance class the other night with a stomach ache and I ended up having to run out of class to the bathroom. It was horrible and I DEEPLY regret going! haha

I'd be on the tmill at the gym. It's not looking good. I guess I'm taking another rest day. Thanks, everyone!
