Wearing a HRM when swimming laps?

Hello! I am looking into getting a Polar FT4 or FT7 HRM. Right now, I am doing a boot camp once a week, and water aerobics/swimming laps 2-4 times per week. Does anyone have experience with wearing a HRM while swimming? Does it stay on? Is it effective? Both Polar models are water resistant up to 30m, but I was unsure how this would work. Thanks to everyone for any feedback or advice you could offer!

I have the FT40 which is water proof for 50 feet...I believe the FT4 and FT7 are water resistance but not proof...meaning you should not press any buttons or water could infiltrate into the watch.
I am very curious on how accurate it is in the water however....let me know what type of results you get. I'd imagine you would need to wear it extreamly tight so you get 0 seperation between the monitor and your chest.0 -
