This. New Rules has good general information (he explains why women should lift, why free weights and compound moves are better than machines, etc) but I like the actual program on Strong Lifts better but the "text" involved is super annoying.

compound lifts like deadlifts, squats, BB rows, pull ups, bench press, pushups, clean and jerks, etc with free weights

new rules of lifting for women is good, strong lifts as well and starting strength. i personally prefer starting strength because you do the same stuff as in strong lifts but also some super fun olympic style lifts. new rules is good but it gets annoying after stage 2 for me because some of the moves are too cutesy and more about balance than strength
