I was just wondering from peoples experiences... how many pounds did it take you to lose a dress/pant size?

Not possible to say - the scale does not have much to do with clothing sizes....the tape measure does...
Take your measurements, do both cardio and strength training and forget about the scale - the next dress you buy will be smaller.....

I weigh 10lbs heavier than last year this time, and I wear a pant size smaller than last year this time...Same make and model jeans...

I think 10 pounds per size is the general answer but I went down a size after losing only about 4 pounds.

    I'm short, 5'4. 5 lbs. has always bumped me up a size (I've been in sizes 2 - 8).

I think it depends on what kind of working out you're doing as well as your body type.

From personal experience, since starting Jillian's 30 day shred I've actually gained a couple pounds but my clothing is way looser.

Depends on your height first, I found early on it only took 10lbs or so then I hit a point where it took 20 to make a difference, and since clothing size changes depending on where it's made...

For me it took 20 pounds, but that may also be due to me wearing my pants snug before I started losing. It's one of those things where you don't want to go out and buy a larger size because you're ashamed and disappointed in yourself. I'm a pear shape, so as far as dresses it depends. If it's A-line, I can go down quicker in size than in pants :frown:

It's definitely different for everyone. I lost a pants size with 2-3 inches lost all over my body and 7 lbs.
