Calories in soups

This is probably a dumb question, but when they say a serving of condensed chicken noodle soup is 1/2 cup and contains 60 calories, is that including the broth?...Just wondering because I don't ever drink the leftover broth after eating soup.

I think it is since you usually only add water to soup if needed. If eating tomato soup and you use milk instead of water it probably has more calories. So if you don't drink the broth you're probably consuming less calories.0

It includes the broth since the only thing added to condensed soup is water. BUT most of the calories are probably coming from the chicken and noodles anyway- the broth is probably affecting sodium more than anything else.0
