Can't Wait To Be Under My Calorie Goal

I have gone over my calories just about every time I've logged them lately. Usually it's after dinner that bombs me, or I have too big of a breakfast and it throws the whole day off.

I am determined to go under or hit my calorie goal from now on. If I'm tempted to binge after dinner, I will just leave the kitchen and go take a bath.

I want to fit in those cute cargo pants my husband bought me!

I find that hard as well. I am going to try to get a veggie tray, then if I feel I want to munch I will let myself eat as many as it takes. Sure I might go over my cals for the day but it will be great veggie cals not the bad chip cals (that my guy is eating next to me:tongue:).
They do fix the need to crunch for me and they are low cal and healthy. Sooooo I will let you know how it works out for me.
    :drinker: Good luck!

Yes. Veggies are great to snack on. I hear if you eat them often, you start to crave them. I am not there yet!

I can relate about guys being a bad influence on weight loss habits. My hubby has a sweet tooth, eats late, huge portions and loves all the guy food like nachos, burgers with the works, chips, etc.

My sister just lost a bunch of weight. She says her secret is to binge on veggies because they fill her up. She is so skinny now!

Snacking after dinner always does me in (like last night :blushing: ) Definitely not alone.

I followed lulabellewoowoo's advice and joined the No Late Night Snackin group. Thanks!

I think I'm going to have to retrain my husband or just not be able to spend time with him at night. I never fails that it will be 9:30pm and he'll say "Gosh, I'm hungry again." Then, next thing you know the aroma of oven baked pizza fills the entire house, or I have to watch him scarfing down a double scoop of Dreyers chocolate brownie. That's tough!

Do you log all your food at once, or just as you eat? I have an easier time sticking with my calories if I plan my day out either the day before or in the morning. I know before it goes in my mouth whether or not I can "afford" to eat it and still stay under my calories. It also helps me with my late night snacking. I know I'm going to want something around 9:30, so I plan for it. I usually have a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich or fudge bar.

    kookla33,

Going over your calories is not terrible as long as it is within reason... now before you yell at me, hear me out.

I just joined MFP on 1/8, and I have gone over my calories each night. The difference is that I have not gone over by more than 150 calories. When I consider that I was likely eating close to 3000 calories a day, and now have a target of 1750 and have not gone over 1900, I think I am ok. I am losing weight and I am not suffering at night if I need something to tide me over.

I do not intend to go over habitually, but I rather go over a few calories in order to prevent myself from going over the top and binge.

yes.this is a good idea to plan ahead. I am doing this a lot more now. I am not a good judge of calories, so I bomb if I don't plan.

fbref9-Good point! I hear what you are saying. When I first started I realized I was going way over too, and I rarely do that anymore. Being mindful is so much better than being rigid + perfectionist.
