you just taught me something new!

I starved on 1200 (and some days much less) for so long without losing any weight. Now I'm eating between 1800-2200 depending on my goals. I want everyone to know (especially us women that have the tendency to starve ourselves - which the media likes to exploit) that it doesn't have to be like that. :flowerforyou:

This will change your life: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/3817-eat-more-to-weigh-less
  • My pleasure. And trust me, your body will love the extra cals that it needs to survive. "Starvation mode" may be a myth, but metabolic damage from consistently netting below your BMR is definitely real.

I edited my previous post to include the calculator. Enjoy!

cool will check out the link!

I eat that range of calories, too! And I'm 5'2", 100 lbs even. I love good and yummy food! :flowerforyou:

Do i feel guilty? NO - not if I earned them by working my butt off. Do I always eat them back - no - not if it's late in the evening and I'm not hungry

    +1

NOt to be rude..but all these women who say they arent hungry or have a hard time eating..how the heck did you gain weight in the first place if you are such dainty eaters?

I never understand this comment. Besides the obvious "not everyone gained weight from overeating/not exercising," when people go from eating large amounts of calories to less, their bodies get used to it VERY quickly. So after being on, say, a 1200 calorie diet for several weeks, your stomach "shrinks" (I know it does not actually shrink, hence the quotes). Your stomach won't actually change size, but your metabolism will "change," and in turn your appetite will. Thus, even obese people can go from ingesting 3000 calories a day to having trouble eating 1200 in a matter of a few months or even weeks.

I didn't excercise, at all. I ate more food than I should. It's always easier for me to actually eat to goal on days I do NOT excercise, I'm not hungry when I excercise--if the next day is a rest day, lookout. It's hard to stay under goal on those days.
