Im doing the USMC mudrun on Oct 13th. Best advice? Wear something that covers your knees under your shorts, (capri length or below) climbing/crawling will tear up your knees and make running very uncomfortable. Sports bra underneath water wicking type shirt/tank (if you wear one) is essential. Otherwise you will literally drag around 10-30lbs of mud and water in your cotton shirt and you will want to strip out of it. Get anything but 100% cotton socks. They give you blisters and hold mud/water like crazy. If your hands are tender, wear fingerless "weight lifting" type gloves. Many people wear old sneakers and I have in the past but found once in the mud you lose traction. I now wear cleats! They are amazing for getting up muddy hills and not falling. Cleats are awesome because you can still run but your don't ever worry about slipping or getting stuck. Drink lots of water for the days leading up to it. Small protein/carb heavy breakfast and stretcher before and after.

Good advice above me. Hydrate well, eat a small but fueling breakfast, nothing cotton whatsoever, take water jugs to rinse off afterwards and trash bags for your muddy clothes. But, most of all...have fun! It's a great experience and they are a lot like chips...you can't ever just do one. :)). Good luck!!
