does anyone else have the same problem?

my sugars are mostly from fruit and occasionally low fat snack bars - will this make a significant different to my weight loss? no matter what, i always seem to be over and it's worrying me.

thanks :)

Is there a reason you care about going over on sugar?

I don't think it matter unless you have a medical condition that makes it difficult for you to metabolize sugar. Sugar is just a simple carb, pure energy. Just don't take in more energy than you will expend, and your body will make use of it.

In some cases it may, but generally the issue is somethign bigger. Most people end up putting the cart before the horse with these types of concerns. Have a healthy deficit with good macros. Do that for a month or 2 and see what happens. If the results are not what they should be, then worry about the finer details.

The reason why you are high on sugar is because you are HIGH ON CARBS. I don't know why you say you are low in carbs. 2/3 of your food comes from carbs.

His macros are fine. He is eating less than 200g of carbs, so NO, he's not high on carbs. In fact, he is not even eating all the carbs that he's allowed with those macros.

    Jacksonpt has it right:

On a 1200 calories eating 60-70% of your food from carbs is a lot of carbs. I hope she/he's not trying to lose weight.

You can manually change your goals to raise your sugar allowance.

On 1200 calories, how can he possibly *gain* weight, unless he's three feet tall!

Carbolipogenesis. Sugar carbs will pull fat out of your fat cells and combine them with sex hormones causing them to reproduce. Then the baby fat cells go back into the mommy and daddy fat cells and grow up and get big all on their own.

It's not great, but it's not horrible. If it bothers you, or if you just want to see how your body reacts when you drop your sugar, cut out some of the fruit and get more carbs from sweet potatoes, whole grains, brown rice is my favorite carb source.
