I'm having a really hard time staying motivated right now : ( Does anyone have any idea to help get me out of this rut? I've kind of hit a plateau and I'm finding it very frustrating and I really don't want to go back to my old habits.
Any HELPFUL advice or encouraging words please!

Write down all the reasons that you want to continue to get healthy. Hang them somewhere where you can see them every day. If you have an ipod playlist that you use at the gym, make a copy of it and change all the song titles to a reason on that list. it helps me push myself harder when I'm working out and I get a little reminder as to why I'm doing this in the first place.0

Hey girl, can you look at today as just one day to get through? I get overwhelmed sometimes thinking "omg I need to do this EVERY day now" and then when I don't do well feel pretty bad about myself. Sometimes it helps to just go a day at a time, one hour at a time. And congratulate yourself on your accomplishments throughout. I hope you have a wonderful day and do well. Take care!0

Try something new. Anything, really. Motivate yourself by doing a workout you've never done before. Buy new workout clothes to make yourself feel good while working out. Look online for a really good low fat recipe to try.
I recently went shopping for new running wear. It's amazing how the right workout clothes can make you feel just that little bit more athletic! haha0 -

Don't give up! I almost did and I achieved my dream at age 50. I hope my stories are motivating:

Hang in there Becki keep in the forefront of your mind of all the effort you already put in this and how far you've come. There's no need to turn back now, if we didn't have hard times - the fight wouldn't be worth it... Keep moving forward and don't give up or give in.
I like the idea of writing everything down and placing it somewhere I can see it - I'm going to do that myself.0 -

What an awesome motivation tool. I really like that! :bigsmile:0 -
These are all great idea! Thank you all so much for being encouraging and not demeaning. It's definitely this support I need.
I love the idea of writing down why I'm doing it... I have a wall of goals in my house ( Yes, I write on the wall, lol )... I think I will add my reasons tonight : )0 -

I told my husband and sister about this app and the next day they were using it also. Now my niece and another friend are using it. We all 'friended' each other on the app and we cheer each other on! It really holds us accountable. Convince others to use it with you even though they may not need to lose weight. It's a great tool for learning about how healthy you are eating....They will probably like to join you!
Don't give up......remember how good you will look once you reach your goal! I am tired of feeling overweight and tired of clothes not looking good on me0 -

^ I agree. Get people you ACTUALLY know to use this app. It's enjoyable to see others around you making better choices and being in the same boat as you. Then when you actually see you they can see the changes that you've worked so hard for. They won't think less of you for using it. My girlfriends and I actually LIKE to look up the drink calories when we're at the bars (even though they are skinny and beautiful), and it let's us make better choices and we know that we all need to get in a work out before going out lol.
I also agree with writing down the reason why you're not wanting to not go back to your old ways. I recommend writing them at times when you're tempted to not work out or eat something (or any time you're feeling low). For me it's when it's late at night and I'm about to grab that bag of halloween candy... I open my laptop and journal in why I shouldnt be eating that candy. Along with something motivational to look at, like a pic I find on the internet of a sexy halloween outfit id like to wear or a motivational post.
Also I agree with the buying things to help motivate you! Like: when you lose those next 5 pounds you're going to treat yourself to a manicure. Or buying a new pair of headphones for the gym. I also like to buy event outfits early and use them as motivation. Like soon I'm going to be on a hunt for a slightly too small cute brown sweater dress for thanksgiving, and will hang it on the back of my closet. Then I'll see it and I'll have that reminder constantly0
