Supplements?

I'm sorry if this has been answered a bunch of times, I'm having a difficult finding a thread that answers my question:

What supplements should I be taking?

I understand that there is no "magic formula" for supplements, and I'm not really looking for something to just lose the weight for me, but almost any serious gym rat I talk to is on a myriad of supplements that's supposed to support their diet/workouts. How do you know what you should take/what you should be looking at?

For me specifically, I'm 5'10", 24, 238 lbs. I've already lost over 100lbs (before I joined myfitnesspal), and have been trying to work through a plateau. I am training for a half-marathon, so I run about 25 miles per week.

I already take multivitamin and eat lots of protein. Should I be adding additional supplements for recovery purposes or...I mean, I don't even know what purposes. I'm really at square one with this and just have no idea. When I walk into GNC, I don't even understand what the bottles say and, while those people are helpful, they are sales people. I just want someone to tell me if I actually NEED anything.
