New to this looking for slimming buddies

Well I am Mum, Nurse and long suffering partner to my fiance! Lol...I started my journey in may weighing in at 21stone11lbs at 5ft5, grossly overweight. I tried from May 2012 to do celeb slim, weightwatchers & slimming world. I lost weight but I didnt feel like it was working for me, mentally if that makes sense. I started one week two weeks on friday using MYfitness pal and have lost 2.2kg so far, next weigh in friday
My fitness pal name is Cara, I use my phone mainly as it means I track everything!!
Would love to speak to people on a similar journey to me, Male or Female! just someone whos knows what your going through. Like today i got sooooo upset as I realised how long the journey is just to get my BMI just to Obese! no-one else seemed to understand why was upset!

thanks ladies I found for the first time in along time I am controlling my food not the other way round. still early days but actually feel this could work, if i slip up, I hammer it at gym!0

I totally understand where you are coming from - I remember crying thinking of my goal weight and how that was over 60 pounds from the weight that I was starting at - but guess what? I year later and I am down 55 pounds (which I think is about 3.9 stone?) and the tears and hard work were so worth it. Give yourself small goals to reach along the way - you CAN DO this! You WILL do this!

Hi I have just joined, am vastly overweight, it would not surprise me if the weighing scales said overload!!!! But this time I need to lose the weight. What's the best exercise to do ? as I hate the gym

I am a young wife looking for support in my endeavor to reach my goal weight!! I have been married for about a year (and almostish a half ) to a wonderful man!! I was my heaviest on my wedding day and after going abroad and losing 15 pounds I am striving to keep that weight off, reach my goal weight of 135 and live a happy (and healthy) lifestyle for myself and family. Faye I hated the Gym too! however this time I decided to get a personnel trainer just so what I was doing in the gym was benefical rather than just going, My Ian (PT) has not only become my PT but a friend and a life coach. We didnt get overweight just by eating thee wrong food especailly when the journey is aslong mine, I had emtional attached/addictions to food. I have had to work through them in order to fully begin my journey. I have lost 2 stone and have a further 9 stone to loose.
I also go walking

I would be glad to be buddies in your weight loss efforts! I have started myself this past week. I am also a nurse! Do administrative/insurance type stuff these days, so I'm on my backside in front of a computer all day. NOT good at all for your general health and weight. But I guess it just means that we have to make more efforts to KEEP our health and not let it deteriorate.
I've been on for a week now, at the invitation of my dad, who needs to lose about 75lbs before he can have a surgery. Too much risk otherwise. I was surprised to receive his Friend invitation, but pleased.
I am of the Low Carb/Atkins/ProteinPower camp. It works very well for me and I feel pretty good after the first few days when body chemistry makes the adjustment. I weighed in at 224lb (16 stone, I believe), and my goal is to loose 100lbs. That would put be back to the weight of my early 20's (mid 40's now). Now if I could also get myself into the habit of exercise, I'd be good! That's going to be much more difficult than the diet part, I fear.
Anyway, was planning to post some recipes along my daily blog posts, if you're interested or would help. Look forward to chatting with you--good luck, to us both!

You know what Hun , I did all that slimming world stuff and it was ok for like a month then it just got boring and the woman I had didn't promote health just weigh loss (like she just keep saying light super noodles are free food ) & everyone's knows them tings ain't good for you, this app is great cuz u can see the nutrition side of stuff, which means your healthy , your body will function properly and most likely help your weight loss journey
You really will reach your goal as well, just don't give up0
