Please help me from going insane!

My weight never seems to have gone down. Since last summer it's gone up and up. Admittedly I spent years eating very low cal and doing masses of cardio. Since last November I started to eat more, reduced the cardio and began more lifting and interval style training. I've upped my protein and good fats. I have seen a differnce in body shape and strength but recently I've felt a lot heavier and thicker, clothes feel tighter. Weighed at the gym today after a while and in the last two weeks I'm up 5lbs. I was trying fasting as recommended by a few people. Thing I found was I wasn't eating high on non fast days. I have just stopped doing stronglifts as I did it for over 6 weeks and felt I hit a wall. Thought I'd drop the weights a bit and do a bit more cardio last 10 days.
I eat well during the week and weekends have more, maybe out for dinner and alcohol.
Could you guys just take a look at my diary? For your info, im 28, 4ft 11, and was around 56.3 and now up to near 58kg. I train 3-5 times a week and am a PE teacher so quite active at work. My personal trainer said my body fat last time about three weeks ago was near 24%.

Well, it seems that you're eating really well. Perhaps you should try just maintaining for a while. Then reduce your calories slightly. Your bodyfat isn't very high at all so you don't have much weight to lose. I think you should resume weights, toss the scale, eat at maintenance and then resume dieting after 4-6 weeks of maintenance. Seems like you've been trying some things that are detrimental to your metabolic race (i.e. fasting) and you want to recover from this 100% before trying another "diet."0

Have you tied to get your RMR done? If you did tons of cardio and vcld, then your metabolism could have adapted and is a lot lower than expected.
Also, I still think the alcohol is killing your progress.0 -
How do I get my rmr done?0

I agree I need to curb the weekend alcohol0

How do I get my rmr done?
Medical centers and even local universities have the options. I would suggest google.0 -
Is it easy to do in the UK?0

How are you doing with water intake? I see 00

Oh as I'm in the UK I don't drink 'cups', I drink litres. Generally I drink 2.5-3 litres per day of water0
-
I skimmed the alcohol bit. I generally will have dry wine or vodka with soda. My drinking habits are no different really to when I was lighter.0

I noticed that your morning eggs look under represented. Many of the database entries would list two large eggs to be around 200 kcal. Also are you sure about the banana bread coming in at 92 kcal? My normal brown bread (home baked in bread machine using a Waitrose packet) is 120 kcal per slice. Everything else today including the estimates for exercise calories looks reasonable.
Just wondering if a few inaccuracies could mean you are not quite eating the deficit you think you are.0 -

A cup is 250 ml. (Well, technically it's a little less, but 250 ml works for me.)0 -
Also are you using a food scale? I see an entry in your diary for 25g of brown rice. Could be right as your diary seems quite disciplined, but 25g is a very tiny portion of rice.0

Right...I have one egg....I use the calories from the box...one is is aroundv80 cals. I mix this with egg white which isn't that many calories.
Yes I use a digital scale.
The banana bread is a small bar by a company cale Nakd so I use their nutritional information on the box
Yes, I do have 25g of brown rice...measured out dry.
as for cups of water....looks like I'm on track with that.
Exercise is logged using my polar ft40 -

Hmm.. so it's counting inaccuracies. Hope someone can help.0

Yep, i log very accurately my food and training. This is why i'm so baffled. Surely i can't gain fat on 1500-1700 calories a day. Even if i do eat out over the weekend, wouldn't i have to eat 3000 calores over my maintainance to gain 1lb of fat...i'd have to eat over 5000 calories then? That is something i know for a fact i don't do.0

Interesting.. i am glad you posted it. But i also found this interesting:
* For this day, restrict your intake of dietary fat to 0.3 g/kg body weight (or as close to this figure as possible).
* Limit carbs to 1.5 g/kg body weight. Get all carbs from veggies and the tag-along carbs in some protein sources. You'll also want to limit carbohydrate-rich alcohol sources such as drinks made with fruit juices and beer. A 33 cl/12 fl oz of beer contains about 12 g carbs, while a regular Cosmopolitan is about 13 g.0 -
You say you put weight on over the past few weeks? Any chance of pregnancy...?0

One last thing, have you ever considered giving up a certain food group to see if you have an intolerance? I ask this because my wife just went through the same thing. It turns out, she has an intolerance (not allergy) to wheat that is associated with her heart condition. Maybe try gluten free for a month or diary free. My wife has has a very difficult issue with weight loss over the past 2 years and after 2 months of gluten free, she has started to lose weight again.0

No not pregnant. I am on birth control and very strict with this too! Have been on it for last 13 years non stop.
I had a food intolerance test a few months agon and nothing significant was brought up. I was told to maybe reduce dairy but i wouldn't say i have that much.0 -
Have you taken your measurements and compared them?0
-
Yep. waist isn't too different but i'm up on my thighs and hips.0

Where you test for an intolerance or an allergy? They are actually different, lol. Sorry, not trying to be a pain, but want to clarify.0
