I have just spent the better part of 10-15 minutes TRYING to add a banana to my snacks.
Plain old simple banana, nothing fancy just a piece of fruit.
I was taught that when you are watching/weighing or measuring your portions it's a weight or a measure. Not size.

Meaning: what does medium banana mean to you? What is small? It's quite obvious with all the differences in people that everyone will have a different interpertation ( I know thats not spelled correctly) so my idea of medium and my neighbors idea could be vastly different.
Is there some easier way of doing this? It seems I have to enter just about everything I have eaten in the database, this can take some time to do it accurately. I weigh my food so I am looking for banana 3 oz. , which is small in my opinion.
But mostly all I find are size or inches. Neither of which seem very accurate to me.
Thanks for listening to me rant and rave, yes I need sugar! And I dont mean a piece of fruit

    Sorry,
After my tantrum I went and dug out my old WW food companions. This is where the info on the database must have come from
The oldest one shows the weight of the banana 6 oz = 2 points ( generally 1 pt. was 50 cals.) this is what I am used to.
I would eat 3 oz and expect 1 pt. or 50 cals.I must have never checked the newer book because this is what I found....

NOW, the newer food companion shows a completely different story,
    1 small ( 6-6 7/8" long) 1 pt.
    1 medium ( 7-7 1/8" long) 2pts
    1 large ( 8-8 7/8" long) 2 pts
    1 ex-large ( 9" or longer.....) 2pts

Ok, it all makes sense to me now. No wonder I wasnt losing on WW, I wasnt measuring my banana to the 7/8 of an inch !!!
I mean seriously ? Has anyone here EVER took out a tape measure and measured thier fruit?? Its crazy because they are the ones that trained us to weigh and measure . I guess I misunderstood. I thought they meant measure as in using a measuring cup.
I dont know , it must be me.

remember, the food db is Wiki style, that means people put in the food and can edit food. If you don't like a food, edit it, or create a new one.
