Ok... so today was kind of bitter sweet in more than one way. First, I woke up this morning and found out I lost 1.5 lbs... THAT was awesome. And I was so excited because I knew I was getting my engagement photos back because they were ready. I go to look at them, and even though the setting was BEAUTIFUL! And my fiance just looked so adorable, I look at myself and I can't help but feel disappointed. I did not imagine that I would be 300 pounds when I was at this point in my life. So as I am trying to celebrate these wonderful milestones in my life, I am held back by this awful notion that, "you're just NOT good enough for these jubilations" I want my engagement photos to look like everyone else's.... angelic. Unfortunately, thats not what was achieved.
But, I'm going to look through the negative and look toward the positive. I have to keep going and striving to reach my goals. I don't want to be this disappointed when I get my wedding pictures back, so I am determined to make a change.
Just had to get this off my chest. I could never tell my fiance this because it would break his heart. He tries so hard to make me feel like a beautiful person. Most of the time he is successful, but not today

Revel in the fact that you are taking action and doing things to improve your health and your future with your fiance. That is a wonderful achievement and one day you will be able to retake those photos and feel the pride of having done the work. Remember, you are beautiful inside, your outside does not dictate who you are as a person.0

Enjoy the fact that he loves you just as you are. Take the photos! Someday, you'll be glad you did.
I have a few embarrassing photos from when I was larger. I am glad I have them, because it shows me how far I came, and that even in that rough patch of my life, I was still doing things that I love to do. I have a photo that I asked my husband to take because the flowers in my garden were taller than I am. I stood next to the flowers and he snapped the picture. When I look at it, I see how round I was, but I was still smiling and the flowers were there because I put them there. I was happy, regardless of my weight. That's nothing to be ashamed of! I'm taking care of myself and doing things I love.
I look better in photos now, but the point is, don't let your life pass you by. These moments are special and will mean a lot to you, so get in front of the camera and quit worrying about being angelic. Be real. Be yourself, and enjoy your fiance!0 -
I know how you feel! Tho I didn't have engagement photos, my best friends wedding..I wanted so bad to be smaller, didn't happen. Good luck!! Your wedding pics will be fabulous! :-)0

I have a lot of pictures that I hated at the time because I thought that I just looked huge...now I enjoy looking back, not because I liked the way I looked, but because at that moment, in that picture, I was me. I still am, I look back at pictures of me with friends or family and I may not enjoy how I looked at that moment, but it takes me back to what I was doing in that moment and that's what matters!! I see pictures of me from along the way in my journey and think "wow, why was I so proud at that point? I was still big." But no, I just remember that on that day I was finally under 250, or 220 or whatever. So keep the pictures, look back on them someday and just remember the feelings you had that day with your SO0

You are both young and beautiful! I guarantee you will someday be amazed at how pretty your skin and hair were and how young you looked, once you've been married for 28 years! I wanted to be thinner in my pictures too, but now I see a fresh, young, happy face -- so in love with a wonderful man -- and STILL AM, by the way! He has loved me all along the way and it sounds as if you have one like that too. You are blessed. Consider how fortunate you are. You are on your journey towards better health with someone who loved you from the very start. Congratulations and best wishes for many healthy and happy years together!0

Thank you everyone!! I do consider myself very blessed. I can't wait to be able to look back on these moments. Not only for the memories, but also to see how far I've come.
I think one of my biggest fears is failure. I CANT give up hope! I have to keep going!!0 -

Great mindset! You can do it!
Don't forget, you can get some "post-engagement" pictures done when you've lost weight and are feeling healthy. They may not be engagement photos, but you can have some lovely ones of the two of you together done by a professional later.0 -
You are already beautiful and you are headed in the right direction for you. Enjoy the photos and enjoy this time in your life. You will be able to look back and see where you have been. I started out at 335 lbs and I married my husband at 252. I am now 239 lbs and still weigh almost 100 lbs more than him (plus I am a couple inches taller!) and feel like an amazon in pictures with him sometimes. Don't stress over the little things.0

When you reach your goal weight look back at your pics and remind yourself that He Loved me then. What do I do to his HEART now!0
