Silly question: Have your feet lost weight??

I went to wear some shoes that I had put away since last winter, and found my feet slipping in them! Have you experienced this? I hate the idea of having to buy new shoes and breaking them in. I'm already finding it expensive to have to buy smaller (love saying that!!) clothes. My budget is overtaxed as it is!!
Or am I just imagining this?

Yep, definitely.0 -
Yes, I lost a full shoe size.0

YES!!!! I was wondering that just yesterday. Most of my shoes are way too big.
I thought it was just the rings slipping off my hands. There is no way I should have lost enough to have my feet shrink (22 pounds). But they have.0 -
You lose weight from all over your body and you thought your feet would be the one exception? You know your hands get smaller because your rings get loose, but your feet would somehow be different? How does that make even the slightest bit of sense?0

Maybe because all this weight I've been carrying for so long has been pressing down on those tootsie and, second, I'm not aware that bones shrink, but then I'm not an orthopedist0 -
I'm jealous.. I want to lose a shoe size!0

YES! Ive gone down from a 4.5 to a 4! And my ankle bones stick out a bit!0

Yup. I expected feet but hands getting smaller shocked me!0

Because I have lost relatively little weight over any particular bit of my body (10% total) and most of it in areas that have a lot of fat storage (arms, buttocks, abdomen, thighs). Bony areas have shown less weight loss as they have less fat stored therefore less fat to lose.
My feet have always been bony, so no, I didn't expect to lose weight there. My hands surprised me as well, but they did have small fat deposits and are very responsive to water swelling.
In addition, I think of differences in shoe sizes as relatively large and due to foot length and not foot girth. So even if my feet weren't bony to start with, I would not think losing 10% body weight would result in a full size drop in a shoe. Shoe size is relatively stable once one hits adult height.
So, no, I don't think my surprise was due to the fact that I am just so much stupider than you are, as your message implies. Jeez!0 -
This is a mis-conception for a LOT of us! I made the comment the other night to a woman in my ZUMBA class about my one pair of Cowboy Boots fit SO MUCH better then they used to. Her comment..."What, you lost weight in your feet?" and laughed!
I think we ALL forget to think about the fact that our feet can lose weight. I always thought of it as the fact that now, my feet dont swell from dancing awhile on them but, my feet DID shrink! NO MORE WIDES for me!!!0
