eating at night

I am really struggling with my night eating issue. I tell myself not to eat after dinner - but mindlessly attack the fridge every night.. even though I am not hungry. Does anyon ehave this issue and what are you doing about it?

Yes I can completely sympathize with you. I have my tea between 6-7 pm and it gets to about 8pm and I feel like I need something
else. It is so hard not to snack at night, I would be interested in any tricks/solutions anyone may have!
  • Hi. This is DEFINITELY where I struggle as well. I tend to want to eat while watching shows after kids go to bed and I am relaxing. Try to start by drinking a glass of water first, and if that doesn't help to curb your hunger and you need something, my go-to (as I am a chocoholic) are the weight watchers fudgicle bars (but be sure to get the snack size as they are considerably smaller than the regular ones and have less calories.) Good luck and feel free to add me as a friend!

I also have this problem and I see it as a personal addiction - something switches over in my brain at around 11pm where I eat until I am no longer comfortable and then I go to bed feeling a failure.

What am I doing about it? I hope these help:

I started the 30 Day Shred DVD and I do this at 10pm. The effect is it kills my appetite for food and I can go to bed on one slice of toast with a teaspoon of marg and a spread of marmite and a mug of tea. There is something about training hard for about 30 minutes that kills your hunger mechanism.

I don't starve myself early on in the day because that can cause a hunger tension towards the end of the day.

So far it is working,so I hope my post helps someone else.

I eat fewer calories during the daytime so that when nighttime rolls around, I've still got plenty of calories to eat.

Then I eat. Sometimes right up until bedtime.

But I make sure to stay at my calorie and macro goals for the day.

I eat a lot of calories at night because it's my favorite time to snack. I'd say at least save enough for a small snack.
