I bought a carton of Lime Sherbet today because it is printed in the box that it is 110cals per one serving. After I ate it, I found out that it contain 230 gram carb. :noway: Just a scoop makes me go over on carb already. I want to throw it away so bad but I just bought it and feel like I am wasting money doing that. Today I go over my carb like -239 gram so far. :explode:

its silly but - my husband bought a giant tub of 4% cottage cheese by mistake. 1- we'd never eat that much anyway- 2- its 4%- Id rather 2% low sodium =/ (his bad) - its going to go bad before we eat it all - as I said silly, but true.0

I dumped half a bottle of whiskey down the drain a few weeks ago. I drank too much too quickly one night, woke up around 3am so thirsty and gross feeling that I went down to the kitchen for a glass of water. While I was there, I dumped out the whiskey and haven't bought any more since.0

email the company and tell them what happened - maybe they'll send you a coupon or something to take the sting out of ridding yourself of the box o'carbs!
I was also going to suggest find a smoothie recipe that would use a 1/2 serving of the ice cream, but even then, that's still a s-ton of carbs for one day and from only one item!0 -
I have no problem throwing away something I won't use but I normally ask friends and/or family in the area if they can use it before it goes in the trash.0

Seriously. In Texas you'd be hanged for dumping whiskey. Unless it was the cheap nasty crap. But if it was decent stuff...you'd be a goner.0

I would throw it away over being tempted to finish it off later.
But 100-300 calories in ice cream isn't going to ruin your day if you make it a meal haha
Yeah, a load of carbs though.
Offer it to someone who lives with you, or toss it. Not too much of a waste. I think of it this way... make your stomach a waste basket or throw it in the trash? Your choice.0 -
I once dumped a whole liter of whiskey down the drain.
I moved into a new flat and found it in one of the built in cupboards. No way I'm drinking that.
Other than that I try out a lot of new recipes and when I don't like it, it is going in the bin and I eat some leftovers from the freezer instead.0 -
So how much did you eat? Cos a carb has 4 cals per gram. And at 110 cals, there is no way there could be 230 grams of carbs, it is physically impossible...unless you ate more than they suggested serving.0

The company gave false nutrional information!?!
I Honestly think the carb count is wrong, over the calorie count. I could eat half a cup of ice cream for 120-140 calories. The ice cream can't be 920 calories unless it is several servings.... that would be a pretty large container.0 -

My nutritionist put it this way: When you overeat (or in this case eat something with much too much carbs), you are wasting food in the form of it becoming fat you want to rid yourself of. So, throwing away something you aren't going to eat is not really any different. I don't know if I worded that as well as she did, but it made a lot of sense to me0

HECK NO I don't throw food! Times are hard....I just let it sit til it expires, then throw it away lol I feel less guilty that way. I did this with the jello I used to eat religiously because I thought it was healthy. It was the 3 layer jello with the white middle. Turns out each cup had like 26g of sugar or something like that. I just let it sit hoping someone else would eat it lol. No one did, so I just threw it out after a month. o_00

I have a really hard time wasting or throwing away perfectly good (just not desired) food. If it were me, I'd ask my friends if they wanted it. If no one wants it, then toss it because a carton of sherbet isn't worth sacrificing your health goals over.0

Throw it away. So what if you wasted $5 or whatever it was. Eating it and having to work it off would be a much greater waste. I dare say you've wasted more money on other occasions. I certainly have. My skinny husband is always wasting food. If he buys something and doesn't like it, he throws it away.0

i hate wasting food - theres nothing wrong with it, try to find someone to give it to if you really arent going to eat it.
personally, i keep an eye on my carbs, but if i go over its not that big of a deal.0 -
As long as it's not expired, I would take it work or to my church and people will usually take it. But even with expired foods, you can keep up to a certain point before you definitely have to throw it out. Some you can even freeze up to a certain point.0
