I can't stand it. I exercise, I eat right, and then there is water weight..Lots of water, teas, it doesn't matter, 1 weekend of eating to much sodium sets me back a whole week or two!!! What to do without taking a diuretic??? I have contemplated it over and over again. I used to take them when my weight just wasn't budging but then you end up with other issues, made that mistake before. I lost tons of weight drinking prune juice, taking diuretics and drinking copious amounts of water and working my butt off in the past, WHAT should I do now, I don't want to go there again??

Try to stop obsessing over what the scale says. Drink more water. Weigh in less.0

At the moment, I love it...I'm on a low sodium diet (1000-1500/day) for diagnostic purposes and am shedding water weight like crazy. (Down 6.8 lbs in 7 days, with only a around 150-300 calorie deficit/day.) I would not have said I was particularly sensitive to sodium - or that I consumed that much of it.on a regular basis. Now that I'm tracking sodium in an attempt to keep my world from spinning around I see I was wrong.
Don't worry about it - it will work its way out of your system as long as you mostly "behave."0 -
i tracked my sodium and kept it at about 1500, for about a month.
i have lost alot of water weight and it has leveled off. Now i eat foods extremely high in sodium and i have been going over on my calories and i have yet to gain weight.0 -
Use a little lemon juice in your water or even tea. Its a natural diuretic and works great.0

Thanks for all the suggestions I really appreciate the responses.0

Doesn't water weight eventually go away? Does it even make a difference in physical appearance or just a temporary number on the scale? I dont even bother weighing myself when I'm on my period or retaining water for other reasons. No point :smokin:0

^^^ great advice! This is what I do. Taking pill diuretics or trying to find a temporary way will only make you feel worse andset you back. Try having lemon juice in ice water once or twice a day and you'll notice a difference. I also stay very low in sodium like others above have said. Good luck!0 -

This.
Water weight fluctuates 5lbs daily considering composition of the human form is 70% water.
Lower carb and sodium intake, drink more water, eat some asparagus. It goes away in a day.0 -

It definitely shows on me. I'm usually carrying about 5-10 lbs of water weight, and I was on a diuretic but am off it now because of hopes to get pregnant. And it does get better and worse but it never goes away unless I take something for itTracking sodium does help though.

Thanks all, I do actually track my sodium religiously and I have got to try the lemon water. I am drinking tea and picked up my medicated tea so hopefully I will break this plateau. I gain the weight and yes, eventually it comes off but it can take up to two weeks. I am weighing myself once a week and that seems to be helping. I weighed myself last Friday and it was the same and has been the same for 3 weeks now..boy it has been frustrating. I am going to try some of these tips. Thanks for all of your responses.0
