Carbs Help??

I'm looking for advice on how many carbs should be eaten with each meal, my husband is a diabetic and has to eat no less then 60 & no more then 65 carbs for each of his meals...which got me thinking should I have a base or a limit for my meals?? Please any information would so be helpful to me at this point to help with my weight loss....Thank you

Assuming you have no intolerances or metabolic conditions that would warrant limiting them, you can have as many that fit into your macros and cals for the day

No less than 60g sounds suspicious to me. Is he on a pump? Does he have issues with hypo? Both my wife and I are diabetic (me - metformin, her - insulin) and it's far better for us both to eat meals with little to no carbs (chicken salad for example). I would have your husband double check those numbers with his endocrinologist.

Ditto, both of my parents are diabetics and had a grand that was type 1 and none of them was that restrictive on range for carbs with a min and max so close together... I would be interested to know why the endocrinologist isn't suggesting more meals during the day... the three meals three snacks as six meals... and then lowering the overall glycemic index and including some good carbs that are higher phytochemical content and high fiber... A great read on the subject of diabetes is Dr. Joel Fuhrman's Blood Sugar Solution...

I was told 60 carbs for a meal and 12 -15 per snack. I believe for women it was somehting like 35-45 MAX per meal and 10-12 per snack.
