I'm trying to increase protein in the simplest way possible. I'd rather not lose any muscle, thank you very much! (I know I will lose some, but I'm trying to keep that to a minimum). I'm having a hard time getting in the amount I want to squeeze into a day. RIght now I'm set at 40% carbs and 30% fat and protein.

Other than steak, chicken, turkey, fish, and eggs, what can I do to get more protein into my diet?

I can't eat any gluten, soy, or dairy including casein or whey. I CAN eat eggs.

Any ideas?

Nuts, legumes, lentils, or tofu would all work.

Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, quinoa, spinach, broccoli, pumpkin seeds

*edit - oops, I missed the dairy restriction.

Are you doing any strength training?

Ooo, forgot about quinoa thanks for the reminder! No I'm not strength training at present, just trying to walk at least two miles a day but if I'm being honest it's more like every other day. BUT some days I walk much further than that. RML thanks maybe I'll up the nuts!

there are protein powders made from other things than whey or soy......My current protein powder does contain soy but also pea protein. I think you can get pea protein or hemp protein powders, try and google it....Also, quinoa is a pretty good source of protein.

If you don't want to lose muscle, lift weights.

I sure wish I COULD have whey. Doesn't agree with me AT ALL. But thanks for the info just the same! I appreciate all the advice. Yes I'm thinking the pea and hemp powders are both good ideas. I'll have to go check out whole foods.

I appreciate the suggestion to lift weights, and I do plan to add that to my lifestyle - I'm just not quite there yet. Thanks!
