    Start doing the calorie count and getting exercise 5-6x a week.

    Count what you eat, all of it. Learn about this new lifestyle you are trying to get into, get passionate about it, and it will be that much easier. This forum is quite nice, if you want another source of info check maybe the /r/loseit sub reddit, on reddit. Some quite nice success stories there too.

    Browse success stories, find people that achieved what you are tying to achieve, and check how they did it. You'll see it's not rocket science. Just work at it diligently.

    Find a goal. Measure your "trouble spots" and make a goal. In 1 month, lose 1/4 inch, in 3 months, lose 1 inch...whatever. Make a goal. Make it measurable and attainable. Also make mini goals to meet along the way. Find a support group who are going for the same or similar goals.

    Perhaps a program is right for you. P90X, Insanity, etc. they are finite number of days long (60 days, 90 days, etc.) so you set the goal to complete each phase of the program. Smaller goals are 1 week with out missing, or even one day without missing.

    Goals. Big ones, small ones...you can do it!

    You should try the 30 day shred with a lot of us on here its by Jillian Michael's and its on YouTube. Google and YouTube other people's results I think you will be satisfied.
