5k in the morning,... and torn! :(

My 2nd 5k is in the morning, and I'm so happy that my hubby is doing it with me! It's a small, local 5k that's just for a tiny festival in my hometown that's around a few blocks in the middle of town, doing loops. Regardless, I'm excited for it!
The only bad thing is that since I've been doing my c25k, I feel motivated enough to run it as if I was doing the program in the gym.... but just doubling it. (I hope that's an accurate way to describe it.) I've been doing really well on the c25k thing, and hubby has been doing really well doing random jogging on the treadmill with me. My only problem is that tomorrow, he says that he's just going to walk the 5k since his back is bothering him from work. He keeps saying that he doesn't want me to feel like I'm being held back, and wants me to do my jog/walk combo, and that he'd "just see me at the finish line an hour later."
I feel bad! I don't want him to feel like I'm abandoning him or something.... but he says he wants me to complete one of my goals, which is to complete a 5k in less than an hour.
What would you guys do in my situation?

If he's encouraging you to do it, go for it! And I think he's a great guy for wanting to see you to accomplish one of your goals. Give him a kiss at the start line and say "see you at the finish"!0

Stop overthinking and just do it! Hit your goal and make both of you proud.
Though, I feel I should point out that you could walk it in an hour too.0 -
Sorry I didn't see this before your race. Most everyone I run with are faster than me. I would never want them to hold back for me. We are all that there to get our PB and I would feel awful if I held them back. A couple of times I have run with people slower. I didn't feel the least bit guilty in moving ahead.
I can't wait to hear how it went. It is sooo cold this morning. That should be motivation enough to keep you moving.
Oh, and you are a runner not a jogger. I saw someone else post this but he said that joggers are just runners with an inferiority complex. If you move faster than a walk you are running. I have heard something like this many times and I totally believe it. Girl! You are a runner! Some of us just run faster than others.0
