social life

I find it hard to keep my social life while i'm focusing on
My weight loss journeys. Ex tonight i'm supposed to go to a big birthday
Bash fit my friend but I don't wanna mess up on my diet... Plus I don't wanna
See anyone till i'm close to my goal... An I the only one who struggles with this?

    Seriously when I first started my weight loss journey in Jan 2012.. I did not go out at all! (because my social night life consist of going clubbing, partying, bars, late night eating, etc.) I gave up drinking & smoking. I had to learn how to live a healthy lifestyle before I can put myself in those kind of social situations. Since summer, I started to go out more but decided that I need to do healthy activities with friends like hiking & biking. I've lost 60lbs so far & that is because I adapted a healthy lifestyle & when I do go out dancing or hit the bars, I learn to limit myself (now I get buzz off of one or two drinks lol).
    I have friends who parties ALL DAY EVERYDAY that I barely see now... however, when you are trying to live a healthy lifestyle, you learn that you're changing as an individual & sometimes you need to find others who are on the same path as you.
    & I felt the same way too, about not wanting to see anyone until you reach your goal. When I saw some people I haven't seen for months, they are so impressed at how great I look! & it's an awesome feeling.

    I hope this kinda guides you to the right direction.

    social life, I've changed my friends besides a few all of them are health conscience friends, everything used to revolve around food and drinking, but now days it can be as simple as going for a walk

    I don't drink anymore so that helps but i'm such foodie >_>
    It makes it hard because after the bar, or what ever we do we go out to eat
    sigh so difficult, maybe I'll hermitize til I get my binging better controlled lol.
    Smoking I haven't given up. Its just too much right now lol
    But congrats on your weight loss! Your calorie outtakes are amazing btw!!

    Blake, my schedule is so opposite of everyones.no one wants to work out as late as i have to :(
    So I just do it alone but its ok I can focus more on it^^

    I had some birthday cake the other day, and prepared for it by doing 40 minutes of dancing in the morning, and taking a walk in the afternoon :) If you can have an idea of where you might go for food, you could calculate what you MIGHT eat and then do some extra exercise that day, and have relatively low calorie breakfasts and lunches? :)

    Those are all fanatic ideas but i'm still working on strengthening my will power lol.
    Its a slow and steady process that I have not yet mastered. I will though hehe^^

    YUP i found myself feeling like this too...and i actually just kind of laid low for awhile because friends can really mess up your diet -_- it can be done they should understand.

    I was a little like that. But then I just thought "Alright, big social events, I'll put the diet on the back burner for the night" A day or two here and there wont affect your progress a lot ;)

    (Try not to go insane, but really, a piece of cake and dinner out is NOT bad.)
