Anyone had TMJ/TMD surgery?

Hi all,
I have been suffering jaw problems since Feb, it has got a lot worse in the last month. I was able to see an oral surgeon this week after another flare up.
He is pretty sure I have derangement of the joint and once I have an MRI he will know what to do treatment wise. He did say it would probably be surgery.

I'm wondering if anyone has either had the joint flushed or actually had the surgery to sew the disk back into place?
If you dont mind I would just like to hear what peoples experience's have been.

    I'm keen to hear too. I have had a really bad clicky jaw on the right for probably 15 years. It doesn't cause any problems with locking, but I have a bad habit of cracking it all the time. I'm trying to treat it through habit reduction but it starts to hurt and stiffen up if I don't click it, so I can imagine needing an op at some point.
