Hey peeps,
I been using MFP for a while now and altho i really havnt seen much result.. its due to my own yo-yo eating and lack of motivation.
I use this app religiously and i have tried to get my friends onto it but only a few are using it..LOL..
Anyways... ADD ME if you want because i could do with some motivation.
Im currently on 1200 cals a day which is ok, but my main issue is my lack of knowledge when it comes to "what to eat".
Hoping to find out alot more about what i should be doing through this forum.
Thanks

I wish you the best of luck in your diet. Most of what to eat and what not to eat is common sense, but knowing what you should be eating and actually eating it are two very different things, so my best advice is to do it slowly. For example you know that you should be eating 5 fruit and veg a day, so try to incoporate that into your diet. Try and eat healthily, but don't beat yourself up too much so long as you can stick to your calorie intake and five a day. Then when you've got that look over your diary and find another change to make. Keep doing that and slowly you'll improve...0

Thanks i'll definately keep that in mind. I guess im not a BIG veggie eater and when i do, i always have to cover them in cheese sauce etc. I guess i need to just start getting serious about eating healthy.0

I have Cibophobia, that's a food phobia, specifically centered around fruit and veg. It makes me feel physically sick and I really struggle to eat the stuff. So I know exactly what you mean when you say that you're struggling with it. However, I can eat apples...I have to eat them with a knife and I can't touch any brown bits, but I can eat apples mostly. So instead of trying to reach my five a day, I'm aiming for ONE a day. Granted, I only bought four apples, but...that's like a four month allowance of fruit for me...
Start slow. Cover them with cheese sauce, whatever it takes to eat them and once you're consistantly eating them, change it to healthier choices. Like cut down on the cheese sauce, dress them in a more healthy style, etc...0 -
For me, it's all about eating clean. No processed foods, no sodas, lots of green tea and water, plenty of protein, fresh fruits and veggies. Keep moving.
(I really don't like veggies, but I make smoothies with fruit and spinach.) I always say, it's a lifestyle, not a diet.0 -

One a day is definately a good step in attempting to eat more fruit etc. My favourite apples are pink lady apples. But i peel the skin off and the bruises..and then eat it. I love fruit but i mainly struggle with veggies. I think for me, its the hassle of preparing food that really makes me take an easy option such as take away etc. I used to steam carrots, brocolli and cauliflower and cover it in cheese sauce, but i did make it a little better by using water instead of milk which seems to be ok. But even so i think the amount of salt i put on them would be unhealthy. Yikes!0 -

I have tried green tea and i have some in my desk at work, i heard its good to have with every meal so i might just give that another shot. I prefer just normal black tea and coffee but I can attempt to make a change. I defiantely get suckered into soda drinks, expecially DIET ones because they have barely any calories but that doesnt mean they are good for you.
My water intake is very poor i would say. I could honestly go a whole day without drinking at all if i had to. I really need to start forcing myself to drink more during the day. Im not much for red meat but i think i will try make more effort but ill be down for chicken. Thanks0
