My silly motivation. Warning: disturbing image, lol

I saw this in a thrift shop, it's simple, but right now it's TOO small, way actually, the fabric is stretchy so I can fit into it, funny fact, I ripped it doing this. LOL. That's sort of ironic.
For some reason this dress motivates me to keep going. I'd never wear it out because it shows my arm flab, even if it was my size.
It's a size 8 and right now I'm about a size 14-16 on a chubby day.
Anyone else have a dress like this? Jeans? Oh boy being able to wear a size 8 jean would be heaven. I hate shopping with the chub.

I have a dress in my closet that I have never worn and aspire to wear this summer for my one year wedding anniversary. It is a size 8.....I am currently a size 14. It's not a silly motivation at all....I'm right there with you!

    I dont think its silly!!
Ive heard how its bad to buy clothes that are too small "hoping" or whatever to fit into it someday and to buy sizes for now- and I disagree! I think its so motivating when theres that SOMETHING you want to get into!! Like the smaller pants I had in my closet, my goal was to get into them! And when I finally did I always just buy something (jeans usually) the next size down and every once in a while try them on. =) Sometimes helps me feel like there really is a goal im working towards!!
  • You are not silly. I just sorted my clothes to get rid of stuff I didn't need anymore and I could not bear to get rid of the clothes I wore when I first got married because some day, I am going to fit in them again. I let go of my size 6's but those 8/10, I am keeping those!

Not silly at all! Everyone laughed at me for holding onto my old clothing for YEARS, hoping it would fit again one day. Today I'm wearing a jacked that was my FAVORITE 5 or 6 years ago, but I couldn't have even pulled on a year ago.

Not silly at all! I recently purchased an AWESOME tshirt (fav. band shirt) in a size too small. I can put it on because, well, because it's a cotton tshirt so it stretches. But for it to be a little baggy on me is my goal. It's a ladies-cut large (which by regular tshirt standards must be an extra small because a medium is baggy on me right now). It's so awesome & it just sits there glaring at me whenever I look in my closet.
Hoping to be able to wear it by the time summer comes back around.

Great to hear other people are doing the same! I have clothes I've had since elementary school, seriously, well end of it anyway! junior high, hoping they'd fit again.

Now that you mention it, I've recently begun wearing a long sleeved fleece shirt I've had since I was 11... which makes me happy for me now, but sad for me when I was 11.

Awe!!! Now I'm going to clean my closet and set aside things, seems like time. This might actually be a great motivation in itself, plus cleaning burns calories ;)

Nope, I have a pair of dream jeans I want to get in! So, whatever motivates you to blow the pounds off, DO IT!
