I have heard of the "Runners High" many times. I have never experienced it. I have been running for almost 6 months now. Any thoughts? Words of wisdom?

I imagine it varies by person, but I felt the same way for a long time... I never hit it until I got to about 4 or 5 hard, hilly miles.0

It took a long time for me, probably over a year. Once I was able to run 6+ miles at a time at a hard pace, shorter runs at a mellow pace became pleasurable. Until then, everything was too hard to feel really good. Now I feel the high every time I run unless I'm doing hard speedwork.0

Mine depends on my mood most of the time. Days when I have been dying to get a run in because my schedule has been extra busy, or I'm stressed out......once I get about a mile down the road I am generally able to turn off my brain and just RUN, and shortly after I really start to feel it. Unfortunately doesn't last very long once the run is over because I have to get back to the daily grind.....0
