Sodium

I'm full of questions today!!! OK I'm over alot on my sodium! The workouts I've been doing really make me sweat!!!! I add salt to anything (most likely the beef jerky does me in) My question is, if I really push a workout hard and sweat alot, can I have some extra sodium during the day?

When I first started I really had a problem with bloating, but not really anymore. I tested my blood pressure a few days ago and it's fine (last year I had high BP, but I think I was really stressed out)

I think as far as health goes, if you don't have any medical conditions that will be affected you can easily go over 2500mg of sodium most days and still be healthy. But, going over in sodium may cause you to retain water. It's not really a health issue so much as an "are you going to be okay with possibly gaining several pounds overnight because you ate so much sodium" kind of issue.

I try to keep my sodium intake under 2000mg and I usually don't have much trouble. I think generally cutting down on sodium intake gets you to eliminate a lot of overly processed/canned/boxed foods which is definitely not a bad thing. So, maybe that's something you want to work on. Maybe not.

    Edit - typo!
