I've lost 26 pounds but have stalled....

I lost 25 pounds over the summer but since starting back to work in late August in a school, I seem to have stalled. I lost 3 pounds more after school started but gained 2 of them back! It's frustrating, I was doing so well. But over the summer I was walking 2-4 miles almost every day and since school has started I'm worn out and can't seem to find the time to go other than the weekends and now with cooler temps I'll go even less! I'm usually right at my calorie goal or under, of course there have been some days I've been over but normally not much. Any suggestions on how I can jump start losing weight again?

  • Congrats on the weight you have lost so far! If you don't want to have to get out to exercise, I recommend trying a DVD that you can do at home. I like the Jillian Michaels DVD's 30 Day Shred, No More Trouble Zones, and Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. Best of luck!

Well done for you weight loss up to now good job!

Have you added any foods back that used to be fav foods before? Maybe just a little here and there? Make sure you log everything (portion sizes)

Maybe give yourself a bit of a competion by joining one of the things on MFP (for instance something like so many steps each day? so you feel more accountable to get moving as you are entering your numbers on the thread?)

Do you have a neighbours dog you can walk?

I understand your loss of motivation, but you can do it, it is just getting your mind back in the right place.

Check out the success stories on MFP and fill your head with all the tips and advice and motivational pictures that you see!!!

Congratulations on the weight loss so far! I'm a teacher, too, and started my weight loss journey seriously this summer. When school started, I joined YouFit gym. Like you, I have no energy or motivation to work-out after school. I'm exhausted (mentally and physically). But I did find that after relaxing and fixing myself a good, nourishing meal, I was ready to exercise. I picked YouFit because they are open until midnight --- and I've actually gone there past 10:00 o'clock. Makes me sleep like a baby!

If you can't do a gym, consider buying a treadmill or stationary bicycle. You can do your 2-4 miles in your living room. Amazon has some great recumbent bikes for under $200, and treadmills can be gotten used for very reasonable cost.

You can do this. You can teach and still take care of your own needs. Don't let your hard work so far slip behind you.

I like to bike ride. I go on my monster 30-40 mile weekly ride on Saturdays...Even here in Los Angeles, when I got on my bike on Saturday morning, I though, DIZAM, it's kind of cold...At my gym they have ellipticals...I have tried a bunch of the cardio equipment and this thing burns the most calories. I tried the stair machines, but I felt the pace of the thing was faster than I wanted to do for cardio. If your school has a gym, perhaps you can hit up some of the cardio equipment at the end of the day?
i have a job that leaves me drained at the end of the day, so frequently I work out at 330am...it's not easy, but until recently, if It didnt happen in the morning, it didnt happen. I dislike the crowds at the gym in the evening, but recently Ive chosen to go at 5pm, rather than wake up at 330.
