Hi
Has anyone had any success with the south beach diet? It sounds like it is a healthy mix and thought I'd give it a try
I have around 20lb to loose
Thanks so much

It is meant to be the healthy alternative to the Atkins Diet. I tried it for about a week and have never felt so bad in my life. But it could have just been bad luck and I was going to be ill anyway, you never know. I have tried loads of different diets over the years and personally find the old fashioned watching you calories and not really denying yourself anything as long as you stick to you cals and trying to get some exercise is working the best for me. Good luck with whatever you decide to do0

Does work if you can stand the bad breath and constipation that goes with it. All that extra protein is hard on the kidneys and I also ended up with blood in my urine. This resolved itself with more carbs and less protein in the diet. Can't say that I would recommend it.0

Sounds like you didn't have a great time of it either. It was quite a few years ago but I think I ended up with a kidney infection or something like that (had to have antibiotics anyway). So maybe it was the diet after all.0 -
I've done it, once you get the swing of things it WORKS. I do keep falling off the wagon though I restarted p1day1 today. If you want to go for it friend me and we can buddy up!its funny, weight watchers, counting calories, whatever...doesn't work for me. Ill be on plan, but creep up in weight even though I'm on a DIET! Ugh. This is what works, at least for me.
I've got about 20-25 to lose, so we'll see!0
