Lowering BF% - cardio or weights?

True taylor5877, but while resistance training looks after the outside of the fine physique, the cardio is looking after the inside - both are equally important in my view.
except the OP didn't ask about how to pass her physical at the end of the month. Nor did she say she really wanted to show up at the party with excellent looking insides. She asked about losing BF to enhance her physical appearance in a relatively short time frame. So we're trying to answer the question that she actually asked.
True - but sometimes complete beginners ask questions that do not bring forth the most complete answers because a beginner doesn't have the whole picture.
If a person turns up at a party with excellent looking insides they will no doubt look pretty excellent on the outside as well!
My answer offered a little extra for the OP to consider.
Anyway - we are both right in our own ways - peace.0 -

You don't HAVE to do cardio. It can be done with weights alone. But definitely want weights if nothing else.
The initial burn of cardio is higher, yes, but the afterburn from weight training ends up being far more calories burned. Especially with Metabolic Resistance Trainging, Circuits, High Intensity Weight Training or whatever you want to call it. You will be burning calories for up to 48 hours AFTER your workout.
Plus weight training will result in less lbm lost or in lbm gains.0
